10 Steps to Start A Social Media Account for Your Energy Healing Business

Getting Started: Planning and Creating Your Energy Healing Social Media Account

  1. Set Social Media Goals

When starting something new, taking time to understand your ‘why’ is an important first step. Why are you starting a social media account for your energy healing business, and what do you hope to accomplish? You may want to write down a few goals to keep you focused and motivated. For example, your goals might include:

  • Building awareness around your business
  • Finding new clients who will book energy healing sessions with you
  • Connecting with other energy healing practitioners
  • Building your email list
  • Increasing the public’s understanding of energy healing
  • Sharing your knowledge with other energy healing professionals
  1. Choose Your Platforms

There are a lot of social media platforms out there, and you don’t have to post on all of them! Try to only take on as many platforms as you can manage with ease. You might want to start with just one or two so that you can focus on posting consistently, sharing your best messages, putting your heart into what you make, and not feeling stressed by this new undertaking.

Each social media platform is best for different types of media and typically has a slightly different audience. Depending on what you enjoy creating, you might choose platforms that favor that type of media. For example, if you are passionate about photography, Instagram is a wonderful choice!

Here is a breakdown of some of the most popular social media sites, and the content best suited for them:

  • Facebook: Recorded videos, live videos, links to blogs, event listings, curated content.
  • Instagram: Great for images, quotes, and short video reels.
  • (X) Twitter: News, announcements, short quotes, sharing blogs, and fun GIFs.
  • LinkedIn: Work-related announcements, professional development content.
  • YouTube: Great for long-form videos, and short videos.
  • TikTok: Favors short fun videos.
  • Pinterest: Photos, infographics, step-by-step instructions.
  1. Understand Your Audience

You want your posts on social media to be relevant and useful to your audience – so having an understanding of who your audience is and what they want to see on social media can be helpful! Determine your ideal audience by looking at your existing audience! Who in your life loves to hear about energy healing? If you already have social media, who interacts with your posts about energy healing or your business? You might note their age, other interests, occupation, and more.

Once you have a better idea of who you’re trying to reach, you can start to think about what you can provide those people. What are their struggles? What can you help them with? What information are they lacking that you can provide?

As your audience grows, it’s a good idea to analyze what topics and types of posts they engage with most. By watching these metrics, you can better understand your audience’s preferences, and adjust your content accordingly.

  1. Create Your Small Business Social Media Accounts

Once you’ve chosen the platforms you’ll use, now it’s time to set up your accounts! Choose an available name, and make sure it’s distinguishable from other brands. It also shouldn’t infringe on any registered trademarks – this includes phrases such as the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code®. You’re welcome to use these to describe your services, however, they should not be included in your business name.

Take time to write your ‘About’ section with information about you and your services. Clearly include a way to get in touch, via your website, phone, email, or direct message, so that people who are interested in your services can reach out and set up an energy session with you!

Creating a Content Plan for Your Energy Healing Business

  1. Decide When and What You’ll Post

Determine how frequently you want to post! Most platforms have algorithms that prioritize accounts that post consistently, so you might aim to post daily or weekly. However, only take on as much as you can manage! Quality will always matter more than quantity.

Choose key themes you want to focus on. Check back with the goals you set in step one, and align your content with those outcomes. For example, if you’re hoping to create more awareness around energy healing, you might do a monthly question-and-answer session on your Instagram Story. Or, if you’re hoping to attract new clients, sharing testimonials from happy customers could be a good strategy. Maybe you decide to share a new video or a blog once a month.

  1. Create a Content Calendar

Creating content for multiple social media platforms can seem like an overwhelming task! However, there are many ways to make your social media strategy much easier and more fun.

A content calendar can be created as a simple Excel or Google spreadsheet. This document will map out your content for the next set amount of time. You can even plan out a few months in advance! This will allow you to stay organized and work on social media content when you feel inspired.

A content calendar can include the following:

  • The projected date when you’ll post the piece of content
  • Which social media platform you’ll post on (if you have multiple)
  • Links you’d like to include in the post
  • The text you’ll share with the content
  • Photo or video assets (or a description of the image/video you’d like to create)

You don’t have to already have everything complete. Instead, this is intended to help you plan out what you’ll make over the next few months. An example might look like this:

  1. Repurpose Content

You may have noticed in the content plan above that each piece of content builds off one another. This can be an amazing way to share lots of great content without having to come up with new ideas every day. If you take the time to write an amazing article for your website, that article can be repurposed into many different social media content pieces. One blog article can generate enough content for a whole week of daily posts!

Similarly, if you were to create a long-form video for YouTube, you could then take that video and split it into short clips for Instagram Reels. Then you might share the video on Facebook with a fun and engaging caption. Plus, you can embed the video on your website alongside an article that summarizes your best points!

  1. Create Attractive Visuals

For most social media platforms, having a visual aspect to your post can make them more eye-catching and effective. If you’re comfortable on camera, you might create photos and videos of yourself. You could include photos/videos of others with their consent. Or, you might choose to use visuals without people in them at all!

Websites such as Pexels and Unsplash offer free high-resolution photos and videos for download, which you can use to create content. Free sites such as Canva allow you to design social media visuals easily by adding text overlays and fun graphics. CapCut is a free video editing app. These sites even offer free layouts and templates you can use to get started!

Try to keep your posts visually cohesive, with similar colors, text fonts, and styles of editing. This will make your brand more recognizable, and keep your social media sites looking professional and attractive!

It’s okay if you aren’t a pro – have fun, get creative, and enjoy the learning process! If you’re feeling creatively blocked, you might want to take time for an Emotion Code, Body Code, or Belief Code session – to clear any energy that might be holding you back from your potential.

  1. Be True to You

As you create your social media presence, allow your true self to shine through. Have fun and share what you’re passionate about! When you show up authentically you will build a trusting relationship with your audience. Those connections will inevitably lead to a bigger community of like-minded people. So, as you craft your online presence, remember it doesn’t have to be cookie-cutter, it can be as unique as you are!

Some things to keep in mind as you develop your social media presence:

  • You don’t have to share personal details. Although people love connecting on a personal level, if that isn’t something you’re comfortable with, it isn’t necessary for success!
  • If you ARE comfortable – share your story! People love to get to know the real you.
  • Be authentic! Don’t be afraid to inject your personality, humor, and emotion into your posts.
  • Don’t be afraid to share imperfect moments – you don’t have to be perfectly polished or curated.
  • Try not to compete or compare yourself to others. What you offer is special! Focus on staying true to your identity, values, and goals, rather than trying to emulate others.
  • Set boundaries to protect your well-being. You don’t need to share anything you don’t want to. Set aside time when you are not engaged with social media at all.

  1. Engage With Others on Social Media

Take time to respond to questions and comments on your posts. This will build trust and connection with your followers. By responding, you open up a conversation with your audience! Social media algorithms also tend to prioritize accounts with high engagement – comments are one way they track that metric. So, more comments mean that your account will reach more people.

Developing connections with other creators who post about similar topics is another great way to boost engagement and grow your network. You can comment on their posts, and begin to build connections with them that way. You can also re-share their content! This is a nice way to boost your colleagues’ reach. As a bonus, it also adds to your content calendar without too much extra effort on your part! Make sure you truly align with the content you share, and add a little personal commentary as well. Tag the creator and be sure it’s abundantly clear the content was made by someone else.

While social media takes some extra effort, that effort can result in amazing growth for your small business. As an energy healer, the more people you reach, the more lives you’re likely to change!
