My husband and I recently adopted a cat from Best Friends Animal Society. Ever since we were married a few years ago I have subtly (and not so subtly) dropped hints that I would love to have a cat. A little ball of fur is just what our home needed! So recently, as an early Christmas present, my husband surprised me with the news that we were going to the shelter to pick out a cat. I was elated!

Normally, when picking out a rescue animal to adopt, there are a few things that you might tend to be concerned about. How will they cope in a new home? Have they been abused? What kind of trauma have they experienced and how will that affect us as owners? Fortunately, we have The Body Code, so I knew that any trauma or emotional baggage could easily be energetically released.

We fell in love with Kevin the instant we saw him, snoozing peacefully on top of another cat in the corner of the room. He perked up instantly when we knelt down to pet him, sniffing our fingers and rubbing on our hands. One of the shelter workers remarked, “Oh, that’s a good sign! He’s very shy and I’ve been trying to get him out of his shell all day.” We knew we wanted him and brought him home that very day.

As soon as we were home I began doing Body Code sessions on him as often as his subconscious would allow. His medical history indicated that he had been rescued from the street a few months prior. He’d been victim to a nasty dog bite, had broken his leg, was malnourished and severely dehydrated. So much pain and suffering for such a cute, little cat. It was such a relief to know that all of that suffering, grief and heartache could be released with The Body Code. Using muscle testing I released a physical trauma energy and corrected a misalignment in the broken leg. He also had a mold infection (treated easily with Neem sprinkled on his wet food), idea allergies, Will to Die energies, Trapped Emotions and psychic traumas that all had to do with his hard life as a stray. I was able to get all of his organs and chakras to test “happy.”

After each session, this shy and frightened little cat perked up more and more. He became braver in venturing out of his covered bed. He reached out to be petted and cuddled by both my husband and me. The more we released, the more his true personality came out.

The biggest change we saw came when his Heart-Wall was released. That same night after I had released his Heart-Wall Kevin became confident, like the king of his new, forever home. He kept us up all night leaping on our bed, rubbing against our faces for pets and cuddles and running around the apartment exploring. Who knew that underneath all of the fear, horror and trauma was a spunky and affectionate cat?

It’s been a little over a month since we got Kevin and I can hardly believe he’s the same frightened cat that was spooked by his own shadow. He proudly struts around the apartment, demands petting and loves playing with his little mousey toys. At night he cuddles up between my husband and me and falls asleep. Our home is filled with so much more love because of him. I can’t imagine life without him now.

I am so grateful for Best Friends for helping to rescue Kevin from what would have certainly been a hard and cruel life as a stray. I’m also so thankful for The Body Code! I wouldn’t have had the knowledge to help Kevin heal and find comfort and peace without it. The Body Code has given me an experience to love and heal my little cat. I really love that!
