It can be hard to see the people you love in distress. Not knowing how to help them heal makes it even more challenging! However, even if you aren’t a trained professional, there are always things you can do to help support others in their healing process. Read on for our suggestions for how to help others emotionally heal.

Suggestions to Support Others as They Emotionally Heal

Listen to what they have to say

One of the most important things you can do for those who are trying to heal emotionally is to simply listen to them. Don’t feel pressure to fix the situation, cheer them up, or provide solutions to all their problems. Instead, try to be present with them, make sure that they feel heard, and validate their experience.

Take care of small tasks

When someone is having a hard time, taking care of their day-to-day concerns can lift a big weight off their shoulders. You might bring them a few meals so that they don’t have to worry about cooking. Stopping by and doing their dishes, caring for their children so they can take a shower, or doing other small tasks can make a big difference!

Be patient

Try not to have expectations that your loved one will feel a certain way on a certain timeline. Healing is often not linear and can take time. Be patient with their personal healing process. However, if you feel like they are still struggling a lot and are not improving, it might be a good time to guide them toward seeing a professional. Additionally, it can be a good idea to keep checking in on their feelings over time, even many months down the line!

Guide them to helpful resources

Depending on what your loved one is experiencing, it might be helpful to point them toward additional healing resources. Introducing them to a wider network of people they can count on during their healing process is often a positive step. In-person or online groups of people with similar issues can help them feel less alone. You might also suggest a therapist, bodyworker, energy healer, or other healing modality specialist depending on the issues they’re dealing with.

Suggest energy healing

Energy healing can be an incredibly powerful way to help support healing from a wide variety of issues. Energy healing systems such as The Emotion Code® and The Body Code™ target the root cause of problems. By addressing the imbalance behind a physical or emotional issue, the problem can be cleared at an energetic level. If your loved one is open to receiving energy healing, you might connect them with a certified practitioner. If you are an energy healer yourself, offering your services without pressure can be a kind way to help support your loved ones as they heal.
