Starting out with muscle testing and energy healing can feel a little bit overwhelming. It might take you some time to find a muscle testing method that works for you. You might not trust your answers at first. And you may find yourself frequently asking, “Am I doing this right?”
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. But even if you’re not new to energy healing, you might sometimes feel like you’re getting in your own way with muscle testing. When this happens, you may grasp for an answer to what you’re doing wrong. In light of this, here are just a few sure-fire ways that you may actually be sabotaging your muscle testing efforts.
Ask yourself if you could be unintentionally throwing up one or more of these muscle testing barriers.
Doubting Your Own Abilities
Call it lack of confidence, inexperience, or distrust, but whatever you call it, doubting your abilities in muscle testing is probably the best way to sabotage yourself.
Before you begin testing on clients or other people, make sure you practice, practice, practice. The more you practice before you start testing “for real,” the easier it will be to push doubt from your mind. Before you begin testing, take a minute to get centered, be thankful that you have this tool at your fingertips, and fill your heart with love for yourself or the person you’re testing.
If you’ve been at this for a while, you might feel pretty confident that you aren’t doubting yourself. But make an extra effort to dig a little deeper. Have you become a little complacent in your belief? Are there Trapped Emotions or other circumstances in your life that could be affecting your faith?
Using Too Much Force
Remember, no matter which muscle testing technique you’re using, successful energy healing with muscle testing requires “baby strength” force. Imagine a baby gripping your wrist or putting their hand on your arm. Try to replicate that amount of force. Again, this takes practice, but the more you do it the more intuitive it should become.
Overthinking Your Muscle Testing
Have you ever found yourself overthinking a problem, and making it out to be worse than it really was? Have you ever tied yourself up in knots by analyzing a mistake or being worried you might make one? We believe that there is no situation in life that can’t be made more complicated by overthinking.
The same principle applies to muscle testing, and to energy healing in general. If you’re too much in your own head or hyper-focused on the act of testing, you may invite more doubt or allow your overthinking to affect your answers.
Try to relax. Close your eyes. Instead of thinking about the test itself, think about the person you’re testing. Love and care for them. Be grateful for them. If you can learn to do that, your intuition should kick in and let your subconscious give you the simple, gentle answers you’re looking for.
