How did you find out about The Emotion Code and how long have you been practicing?
I began first with TNT – The Nelson Technique, which I learned in 2000, and I used this with a small number of people, along with other approaches. I found out about The Emotion Code when I received an email from Dr. Brad that this new healing system was ready. I started to incorporate it into my practice immediately, and especially got deeply involved with it starting in June 2009. On October 27, 2009, I received my certification in The Emotion Code.
How do you think The Emotion Code compares to other energy healing modalities?
I find The Emotion Code to be by far the easiest-to-use, most direct and most effective approach I have ever used for addressing emotional distress that often leads to physical symptoms. The results are often felt immediately or within days, and this makes for very happy clients, as they can experience very quickly the changes taking place in themselves and, hence, in their lives.
What advice would you give to those that are new to practicing The Emotion Code?
I would say to relax and have fun. Even if you’re not sure of yourself, persist! You may want to practice on somebody whose results you are unattached to at first – working with a pet or with somebody who only has minor complaints. Also, aim to get good at releasing your own trapped emotions, as this will keep you clear. It will also give you first-hand experience of what it’s like to release what has been a problem for you, and will allow you to be an inspiration to your clients.
One other thing. Put yourself into your client’s shoes and be creative in your questions. The body will tell all, and so all you have to do is think up good questions!
What are the differences between The Emotion Code and the westernized medical/drug industry?
One of the main differences is that the westernized medical/drug industry is based on a mechanical view of the human body. So the belief is that if you can find the broken part and fix it, you have cured the patient. This doesn’t work, because it’s not true. The Emotion Code is based on the realization that trapped energies – in this case, emotions – are at the basis of much of the physical symptoms that people show up with in their doctor’s office. Once these trapped emotions are released, and the energetic blocks they created, cleared, the body can then use its own inner wisdom to move toward wellness. And all this happens without the side effects of drugs that the patient might have been prescribed.
Do you have a healing story using The Emotion Code that you could tell us about?
There are so many, but here’s one that jumps to mind: This was a man who, despite his strong desire to forgive the bad treatment he received from his family, and after years of using different approaches in order to experience some kind of relief from his emotions, nothing had worked. Using The Emotion Code with him, we were able to uncover an underlying subconscious program made up of dozens of trapped emotions that were incongruent with his desire to experience true forgiveness. After his first session, his wife immediately said that he was a different man. After three sessions, which included releasing his Heart-Wall, he was totally freed of the past. He told me that he’d gone to a family get-together and was able to be completely neutral when the subject of the previously troublesome members of his family came up. To him, this was total liberation!
If you could tell the world about The Emotion Code in one sentence, what would it be?
The Emotion Code is a part of the most effective healing system that I have found to allow the power of the body to heal itself.
Where do you see the future of energy medicine headed?
I would say that, as the word gets out about the transformations that are possible through energy medicine, it will become an approach that is demanded by patients. I envisage the day when energy practitioners are on staff in medical clinics, hospitals, and so on.
Here’s a marvellous story that, for me, illustrates where energy medicine is headed: This is about a young woman of 17 who had been suffering from depression since the age of 13. Medicine had been powerless to help her, and luckily, because of “energy medicine”, she had been able to avoid being admitted to hospital! Here’s the story, as told by her mother.
“I came to Joan desperate for help with my 17 year old daughter, who was suffering from depression on and off for the last 4 years. Being in the natural health field, I had explored diet, exercise and supplementation (to name a few), to alleviate her suffering but she was still struggling. She had lost interest in school, sports and friendships. At one low point, we even tried drug therapy with no positive results.
“I continued my research into all aspects of healing and arrived at energy medicine, in particular The Emotion Code.
“For six months, Joan worked with Melissa’s energy at a distance without her participation, while I stayed on the phone to answer questions that came up. Joan also sometimes worked on her own without either of us.
“With each weekly session, my daughter moved slowly out of her dark state and into the light. It was amazing to watch her energy and attitude slowly shift in a positive direction. She is currently attending University and playing Varsity basketball. She has rekindled her old friendships and is open to making new ones. Furthermore, she is now willing to help herself using good lifestyle habits.”
Where is the future of energy medicine headed?
When we think about the number of people taking anti-depressants and other drugs today, and we see what was possible in this young lady’s life, I would say that energy medicine may well be THE future of medicine.
