THE BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO MUSCLE TESTING

The subconscious mind often knows things that the conscious mind doesn’t. When someone gives the advice “go with your gut” they’re referencing this internal knowledge! By trusting our bodies, we can access a deeper intelligence. This knowledge doesn’t necessarily show itself through thoughts, but can instead be expressed through intuition, or the subconscious mind. Muscle testing is one way to access the body’s knowledge and understand our subconscious thoughts in a clear way. In this beginner’s guide to muscle testing, we’ll discuss what muscle testing can be used for, and how to begin using muscle testing.

How does muscle testing work?

The basic idea behind muscle testing is that by testing how muscles respond to certain stimuli, our bodies can be used to peek into our subconscious mind’s knowledge about our own health. Some muscle testing practitioners use this process to test the health of certain organs in the body (the heart, kidney, liver, etc.) to determine nutritional needs, find emotional issues, identify allergies or sensitivities, and more!

During muscle testing, a practitioner applies force to one or more muscles in the body. Based on whether the muscle weakens or resists the pressure, the body’s response is labeled as either a weak or a strong response — often used as a ‘no’ or a ‘yes’ answer, respectively. Practitioners can ask specific questions, ideally questions with only a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer, and can use the body’s response to give them key insights into the subconscious answer the body already knows. So how can you start using this process to peek into the subconscious mind? Read on to learn the first steps!

How to prepare

Before you try muscle testing, it’s important to prepare yourself in a few simple ways. Because the practitioner’s interpretation of someone’s response is a major part of muscle testing, it’s important that the practitioner is focused and fully present. It’s hard to be our best selves when we haven’t had enough sleep, haven’t hydrated well enough, or are just feeling out of sorts. Receiving inconsistent responses when you’re not feeling your best is very common. The best way to combat these inconsistencies is to take great care of yourself!

In order to prepare for muscle testing sessions, try drinking enough water, meditating for a few moments to center yourself, or even taking a nap if you’re tired! If you still feel uncertain, or unfocused, coming back to the practice another day can be a good idea.

Start by Testing on Yourself

A great way to learn how to interpret answers is to start muscle testing on yourself. The Emotion Code Certification begins with muscle testing! Build your confidence and knowledge by accessing your personally learned and accepted subconscious information through muscle testing.

Begin by asking yourself questions that can be answered by either a ‘yes’ or a ‘no.’ This will allow you to correlate muscle responses with one answer or the other. Begin with a few simple questions you already know the answer to. Ask the question then observe the body’s reaction. Notice if you experience a different response for the ‘yes’ answers, and the ‘no’ answers. As you practice this method, you’ll likely start to see a pattern unfold! This self-practice can help you learn what a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ response feels like so that when you move on to asking questions you aren’t certain of the answer, you’ll be able to perceive what your body’s reaction means.

Keeping your questions to yes or no (true or false) answers is an important part of learning to muscle test successfully! By formatting your questions in this way, the body can respond to or reinforce positive energy, and avoid or refuse negative energy.
