If you recently completed one of Discover Healing’s energy healing certification courses, or you’re considering enrolling, you may wonder what it takes to start a thriving energy healing business. Follow the step-by-step guide below to establish a solid foundation for your energy healing business, so you can start helping clients and changing the world!

10-Step Guide to Starting Your Energy Healing Business

1. Choose Your Offerings

Depending on your level of certification, you may choose to offer the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, or Belief Code®. If you have other related services that you are licensed to incorporate into your business offerings, such as massage, Reiki, or crystal healing, you can decide to include them as well. You’ll also want to determine if you’ll offer in-person sessions, or sessions by phone, email, or video chat. You might choose to offer all of the above! You can offer single-session prices, discounts for multiple sessions, or even a membership package. It’s okay if these offerings shift over time, but it’s a good idea to start thinking through what you want your business to look like.

2. Complete Your Certification

If you haven’t already, completing your training and becoming fully certified is an important step to take before you begin charging for energy healing sessions. Level 1: Emotion Code certification allows you to offer professional Emotion Code sessions. Level 2: Body Code practitioners can offer both Emotion Code and Body Code. Level 3: Belief Code Certification is our current highest level of certification, and allows practitioners to offer all three types of energy healing sessions to their clients. Receiving a certification from a renowned program such as Discover Healing allows clients to trust your expertise, and gives you the knowledge you need to start helping them!

3. Create a Vision Statement for Your Business

Set aside some time to dream! Think through your business goals and aspirations for the future.

  • What inspires you to start this business?
  • Who do you want to reach and help?
  • What would the absolute best version of your business look like?
  • Where do you see your business in a year, five years, ten years down the road?

Write down the answers to these questions, and develop a vision statement for the business of your dreams.

4. Identify Your Audience

Ask yourself – who am I creating this business to help? What impact do I want to have on their lives? By visualizing your ideal client, you gain clarity on who you want to serve and who is likely to benefit from your services. This exercise can help you tailor your business and marketing efforts to those you want to help, and increase your ability to attract your dream clients.

5. Choose a Name for Your Business

This step may take a while, and that’s okay! It’s a big decision! Brainstorm ideas that resonate with you, that feel memorable, unique, and descriptive. Trust your intuition, and choose something that feels special to you. Keep in mind these other important considerations as you determine your energy healing business name:

  • Is the name already in use? Search the internet and social media to ensure that your name is unique enough to stand out from other energy healing businesses. One easy way to add some personal flair is to include your name.
  • Is the name trademarked by someone else? It’s important to make sure your business name is not using a trademarked phrase. This includes the phrases the Emotion Code, Body Code, and Belief Code! While you may use these trademarked terms to explain the work you do, you do need to omit them from your company name and website URL.
  • Share your business name ideas with trusted friends or family, and ask what the name evokes in their minds. This can be a helpful way to see how the name affects others.

Once you have a name chosen, you can start to consider your brand identity. Think through a logo, colors you’d like to incorporate, and even a few fonts to consistently use. You can use this brand identity to help you design your website, business cards, social media posts, and more. These visuals will help clients recognize your brand easily, and keep your marketing efforts cohesive and professional!

6. Research Local Laws That May Affect Your Business

Do you need to register your business with certain government bodies? Are there applicable licenses or permits needed to start a small business in your location? Rules will differ depending on where you live, so it’s a good idea to do some research on your specific area.

7. Create a Workspace

Choose a dedicated space for conducting energy healing sessions! Ideally, this space will be peaceful, private, and promote a feeling of safety and relaxation. Consider lighting, decor, and comfort to create a welcoming environment for yourself and your clients. This is applicable whether you’re planning to do in-person or virtual sessions! Having a nice background and good natural lighting will improve the client’s experience during online sessions as well.

8. Develop an Online Presence

As you begin your business, you may want to build an online presence through a website and/or social media. An online presence allows people to discover your business and easily get in touch with you! You can keep this simple if web design isn’t your specialty, or even find someone to give you a helping hand as you create your online presence. Make sure your website and social media include a way to get in touch with you and schedule a session. If you’re comfortable with it, having a photo of yourself can also be a nice touch, so clients can feel connected to you.

9. Start Building Your Community

A great way to start finding clients is simply by reaching out to family, friends, and your local community, and asking if anyone needs support. As you provide your wonderful services to those close to you, they’ll likely want to share about your business with their network. Word of mouth is an amazing way to grow your business, and when people love your offerings they’re likely to share.

Another way you can find new clients is through marketing efforts. This could include posting on social media, putting up paper flyers in your local community, networking with other holistic health practitioners and wellness centers in your area, and tapping into the Discover Healing community.

10. Believe in Yourself!

Trust yourself and your vision for a successful business! Starting something new can be intimidating – so stay true to yourself and believe in the value of what you can create. Think of all the people you’ll be able to help when your business is up and running, and how proud you’ll be of your accomplishments!

Starting an energy healing business takes dedication, passion, and a commitment to serving others. As you follow these steps, stay true to your vision and you’ll build a fulfilling business that brings abundance to both you and your clients!
