From start to finish, we’ll walk you through finding a Certified Practitioner, scheduling your appointment, and what to expect during your first energy healing session. You’re taking the first step toward an incredible transformation! So, let’s get started! 

How To Book A Session With a Certified Practitioner

1. Decide If You’d Like an In-Person or Proxy Appointment

Emotion Code, Body Code, and Belief Code sessions can all be conducted in-person or by proxy, so you’ll need to choose which type of energy healing session you’d like. If a practitioner and a client aren’t in the same place, or if, for any reason, a client does not want to be tested personally, a “proxy” can be used in their stead. This means that a practitioner can stand in for, or represent, their client. A practitioner could also use a third person to act as a proxy instead. By connecting with the person they are testing for, that person acts as a conduit for their client’s needs. This means that you can experience the healing powers of the Emotion Code, Body Code, and Belief Code, even if you don’t live near a practitioner!

Choosing the type of session will help you decide between a local practitioner and a practitioner based somewhere else. If you live in a smaller town without local certified practitioners, a proxy session with a practitioner based elsewhere is a wonderful option. It’s entirely up to you and your preferences! These energy healing methods work just as well whether you’re next to your practitioner or thousands of miles apart.

Types of Sessions Our Energy Healing Practitioners Offer:

In-Person

You’ll meet with your practitioner live and in person.

Telephone

Your practitioner will speak with you on your cell phone or landline.

Video Call

You’ll meet via video call on Skype, Zoom, or similar software.

Via Email

Your practitioner will work with you via email or chat messages.

2. Find a Practitioner To Work With

Use our Practitioner Map to search for practitioners worldwide. Each listed practitioner is a verified, active practitioner certified through Discover Healing’s programs. Practitioner listings include their certification level, location, hours, types of sessions they offer, languages they speak, how to contact them, and sometimes a short bio and a photo.

Search for a local practitioner if you’d like an in-person session, or search anywhere in the world for a practitioner with whom you intuitively connect!

Level 2: Body Code Practitioners are required to have completed the Level 1: Emotion Code Certification, so they have a higher level of certification. Belief Code Practitioners must first complete both the Level 1: Emotion Code and the Level 2: Body Code courses and have achieved our current highest level of certification. 

Depending on the practitioner’s certification level, they may be able to address different issues. Therefore, if you feel like you may need help with a faulty belief system, a Belief Code Practitioner might be the best option. If, instead, your intuition tells you that a Heart-Wall is holding you back, an Emotion Code Practitioner could be a great choice!

3. Set Your First Appointment

Once you’ve found a practitioner that you’d like to work with, simply follow the links they have provided in their Practitioner Map listing! Sometimes a practitioner will have a website where you can book an appointment online, while for others, you’ll be prompted to reach out to them via email or phone. 

4. Verify Appointment Date and Time

You should receive confirmation from your practitioner once your appointment is set, with information about how to meet for your session! If you have any issues or questions, reach out to the practitioner directly through their listing on the Practitioner Map.

How to Prepare For Your First Session

To prepare for your first session, there are a few things you can do! 

You may want to set a personal intention for your session. This can be a helpful way to guide your mind to focus on what’s bothering you most. An example of an intention might be “I want to feel lighter emotionally” or “I want to address this pain in my shoulder.” Think of what inspired you to schedule your session! 

Another action you can take to set your first session up for success is to prepare your space (if you’ll be taking part in a remote session). Try setting up for your session in a quiet, grounded environment. Simple actions such as letting your family know you’ll be busy during the session, spraying some essential oils in the space, or lighting a candle can put you into a calm state of mind! You may also want to have water or tea, tissues, and a journal nearby when you begin your first session! 

What to Expect During Your First Energy Healing Session

Every practitioner is unique and may structure their session a little differently! Read on for a general overview of how your first session is likely to proceed. 

  • Introduction

Your practitioner will likely introduce themselves to you and share some of their story. They may ask you to introduce yourself and share your answers to some simple intake questions, such as why you’re interested in pursuing emotional healing. It’s up to you how much you share – this information can help your practitioner understand what you’d like to focus on; however, they can still work with your subconscious mind even if you don’t feel comfortable sharing much information. 

Some questions your practitioner may ask you: 

  • Your name
  • Your age
  • Where you are (if you’re not together in person)
  • To describe what you’re experiencing (physical or emotional distress)
  • To list your physical, emotional, or mental discomfort intensity level on a 1 to 10 scale
  • Inquiry 

Your practitioner will then begin to ask your subconscious questions to begin to identify trapped emotions, imbalances, or beliefs. The energy released during the session will differ depending on what your subconscious mind is focused on, what your body is currently ready to address, and the certification level of your practitioner. Your practitioner will use muscle testing techniques to determine answers to these questions. Muscle testing is accomplished by asking ‘true’ and ‘false’ questions, then checking the body’s response. Responses can be checked in a few different ways. You may see them using their hands or arms to perform these muscle tests. You might also see someone using a pendulum, or a bobber! These are simply tools that some practitioners like to use.

A few examples of muscle testing methods you may observe during your session include:

  • The Arm Test: Gentle pressure is applied to an outstretched arm
  • The Ring-in-Ring Test: Two fingers are linked on each hand and gently pulled apart
  • The Sway Test: Movements of the body are observed when standing
  • Identification

Your practitioner will ask questions and muscle test to determine what energy is ready to be released. Trapped energies are identified individually and released one at a time, not in groups or bundles. Every trapped emotional energy is potentially significant for you, as each one has had an impact on you in some way or another. Each comes from a specific time or event that was experienced either by you or someone else you may have inherited or absorbed the energy from. These energies might affect us in various ways, creating potential challenges, problems, and discomfort of all sorts, both physical and emotional. 

  • Additional Information

Your practitioner may determine that you need more information before release. This information can include details such as identifying the age at which an energy was stored, if there are associated imbalances, if it was inherited, etc. While your practitioner is asking questions, they won’t look to your conscious mind for answers! You are welcome to share insights, emotions, or physical sensations as they come up, but there’s no pressure to talk – your subconscious mind will communicate for you!

  • Release

Once a trapped emotion, energetic imbalance, or faulty belief is identified, it can be released. Your practitioner will simply swipe a magnet across the Governing Meridian to release the energy. They will then check to confirm the energy is gone afterward.

  • Listen to the Body

It is important to let the body determine how much energy work to do in a session. Most of the time, you may find that your practitioner can identify and release between five to ten energies in a session. This is typical, but sometimes you may find that your body will only allow you to release two or three emotions in a session, and that’s okay. Trust the wisdom of the body! 

  • Allow Time for Processing

The body may need a few days to process after your first energy healing session. During this time, you might feel some side effects of processing the emotions that were just released. Most of the time, processing is pretty mild. You might feel lighter and less burdened. Your body might feel more relaxed, or you might experience some popping in your joints. Other times, you may feel some negative symptoms. You might feel some echoes of the emotions that were released. You could feel tired and out of sorts emotionally. You may cry or even feel sick. The unpleasant effects don’t typically last for more than a day or two, and they are usually very mild.

  • Set Up Your Next Session! 

If you enjoyed your first session, you may want to set up another session with the same practitioner! Often, a few sessions will be needed to address an issue fully – for example, a Heart-Wall generally takes 3 to 5 sessions to resolve. If, for any reason, you felt like someone else might be a better fit, you can always check back in with the Practitioner Map and search for a different practitioner.
