If you feel stuck trying to perfect your first muscle testing technique, then move on and try all the techniques outlined in The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson. Remember, don’t give up! Find a technique that you resonate with and stick with it until you are comfortable using it for hours at a time and in any situation.
It’s always good to have a back up technique, who knows your go-to-technique may become tired from too much testing, or become injured, or you may need to be more discreet at times.
You may also want ask your energy healing friends what techniques work for them and try those out. You could always get together and have a muscle testing party.
Dr. Brad uses the Hand Solo technique as his go to, while the Ring-in-Ring technique is his back up.

Below is an excerpt of what I considered interesting:
“There are several things that are really important when we are muscle testing ourselves. Muscle testing, our ability to muscle test with ease goes up and down, depending on what’s going on in our body. For example, if our yeast is out of balance, then it is trickier to muscle test because the fungus can affect our muscle testing.
Same if we have some kind of infection whether it’s bacterial or viral stuff going on in our body; it will affect the muscle testing. So you have to be particularly careful in your muscle testing if you have any of this going on in your own body at the time. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it, but it takes more to be able to do it.
[…]
There are a couple of things to do when you’ve got something going on in your body and you’re going to muscle test. One is to take your hand, one hand, and tap on the side of the other hand, where you pinky is, the side where you would make a Karate chop. Tap on that side of that hand and then take your other hand and tap on the Karate chop side of the other hand. So what you’re doing is your un-reversing yourself – aligning your circuits, so to speak – because fungus and bacteria will have us be reversed energetically so that we will get incorrect information. You do that to start with.
Then we test to make sure that we are not reversed by testing with our name. […] And you want to get a positive response to your name and a negative response to what is not your name. That tells you that you are un-reversed and you’re muscle testing at this moment is accurate. […]
Now if you get different answers, it means un-reverse yourself and keep testing until you get the same answer three times. Then you will know if it’s accurate. If you keep getting different answers, it’s a sign that you’re not getting accurate information. It’s also good to drink water beforehand. That helps move the toxins through you.”
This is something I have struggled with. I would like a video on as many tequniqes as possible. Especially if I am testing someone who is laying down. I currently use circled fingers and other hand breaking through the circle.
Hi Diana,
Here is a muscle-testing webinar you might find helpful!

i still use the pendulum but i’d like something else for out in public! For food testing, after eating or while tasting it I then rub thumb & pointer finger (on same hand) to check for any “stickiness or raised bumps” on my fingerpads — this indicates the food is not compatible w/ my system at that time.
But yes, i need a backup way!
I like the Snap Method: A strong response (yes) means I cannot complete a snap and a weak response (no) means I can complete a snap.I guess you could program it either way. I learned this method from an alternative Dr.. As a backup, I like the self arm test with the arm bent, that Dr. Bradley demonstrated on the videos. Also, having learned this from a energy practitioner for discovering stealth subconscious information, I also ‘connect the circuit’ by connecting my thumb with my pinky, if I am getting inconsistent results, after making sure I have done all of the prerequisites Dr. Bradley suggests. I don’t know if I am restraining my beliefs on muscle testing by doing this, but it helps give me clearer answers when I need them.
I only test by connecting my thumb with my pinky. Tasia, I’m not a native English speaker so I didn’t really get what you wrote about this, can you please explain in more detail? Thank you!
I do not use the thumb and the pinky as a means to muscle test, I only use it as I am muscle testing, when I am getting inconsistent results. For example, if I get one response and retest to confirm that response and get another response, test for inherited or hidden, and that’s o.k., then I will connect my thumb with my pinky finger to get clearer answers. It looks like this while you are testing with your chosen method:

If you want to learn more about it, I don’t know if you could search for it, but I learned it through Sandi Radomski. Hope this helps!
May I ask please – when using your thumb and pinky finger – what indicates yes and what no. Never heard about this method and I am interested in finding one hand alternative.
Thank you.
Thank you Tasia! I understand that you use the thumb and the pinky to “close the circuit” only when muscle testing, whatever that means (what does it mean, BTW? 🙂 )
I use it for muscle testing itself and here’s how the method is described in detail (this is an answer for Trish also): http://www.holistichealthtools.com/muscle.html
I found this method working the best and I adopted it. I only use this one. I suppose there may be better ones but for me it works just fine.
Thank you Tasia also for pointing me to Sandi Radomski, I just watched one of her short movies.
