In springtime, as leaves unfurl, and flowers start to bud, it can feel good to reflect the season and make space for new things in our lives as well! The tradition of spring cleaning can be interpreted as more than just a reset for your home, but a great time of year to clear out your mind and spirit as well. Follow along for tips to nourish your soul, just in time to bloom this season!

Clear your space

Traditionally, spring cleaning is associated with deep cleaning your physical space. A clean, organized home can help your mental state as well! Take a day to deep clean your home, declutter your space, and donate or recycle items that you no longer need.

Once your space is clean, you might also set new habits that help you feel at peace in your home every day. Making your bed each morning can be a simple way to keep your space more organized. Or, perhaps a messy kitchen is what stresses you out – prioritize doing the dishes each night to start your day calm and organized!

Cleanse negative thoughts

Sometimes we internalize negative thoughts about ourselves or our lives, and it can be hard to release these feelings! Getting rid of these thoughts can make a big difference in your perception of yourself, and how you move through your life.

An example of this might be if you often think “I can’t do that” or “I won’t succeed.” Try considering if that thought is really true, and how you know it’s true. Additionally, ask yourself if you benefit from thinking that thought. Imagine how you might feel if you no longer believed that statement. Take time to journal the answers to these questions. Examining your thoughts can be a helpful way to work through them, and start disrupting those negative thought patterns.

If this exercise isn’t enough to release those negative thoughts, you might try using the Emotion Code® and the Body Code™ to further identify if there are any trapped energies or imbalances that are making it more challenging to release them.

Clean up your goals

Many of us set resolutions at the beginning of the year, and spring can be a great time to check in on our progress. Are you steadily moving towards accomplishing those goals, or do you need to manage your time and effort differently? Do you still want to accomplish those goals, or has your focus shifted elsewhere? Taking time to clean up your to-do list and decide what matters most to you right now is a powerful way to stay on track.

Reset your habits

It’s easy to pick up habits that don’t benefit your goals. Perhaps in the cold winter months you’ve exercised less, started eating more junk food, or haven’t been focusing on your passion projects as much. Spring can be a wonderful time to reevaluate your weekly routine and make adjustments where necessary.

Whatever habits come to mind, write them down and create a plan to make one small shift this week to align with your goals. For example, if the habit you’re focusing on is exercising more frequently, it might be as simple as adding one lunchtime stroll to your schedule.
