9 Mind-Body Practices That Complement Energy Work

1. Deepen Energy Healing with Meditation

What it is: Meditation is a practice that involves clearing the mind. It typically involves focusing your attention on one thing, such as the breath, a mantra (repeated phrase), or a visualization. It is often practiced while sitting in stillness.

Why it works: Meditation helps calm the mind, center your energy, increase body awareness, and bring you into tune with your emotions! This can allow you to be more receptive to energy healing.

How to Practice: There are many types of meditation, so it’s worth exploring what you like the best! You might try a Body Scan Meditation, by slowly focusing your attention on each part of your body. Start with your toes, then move up to your ankles… and so on to the top of your head. Or, you might try a Sound Bath Meditation – find a singing bowl music track of your desired length online, and simply allow the musical vibrations to wash over you! Try to keep your attention fully focused on the sounds of the music. Try a meditation before or after your next energy healing session!

2. Clear Energy Blocks with Breathwork

What it is: Breathwork encompasses a variety of breath-altering exercises. By changing the pattern of your breathing, you can experience specific benefits – different breath practices can have different effects on your experience! How to Practice: Search for sound healing tracks on YouTube, Spotify, or wherever you listen to music! Many creators title their music with information about what it will promote. Or, for a powerful experience, seek out Sound Healing events in your area and attend in person.

5. Reflect and Release with Journaling

What it is: Journaling is the act of writing down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences!

What it is: Typically essential oils are used for this holistic practice. Essential oils are concentrated liquid extracts from the leaves, flowers, bark, roots, or fruits of plants through distillation or pressing. Essential oils can then be smelled or, applied to the skin with a carrier oil, or added to baths. 

Why it Works: Aromatherapy uses scents to bring about relaxation, boost the mood, and more!
