Here is a great tip for you, one that I got from my amazing mother, Ruth Nelson. Once, when I complained of having a hard time getting to sleep, she looked at me and said, “If you can’t sleep, you’re too darn dumb, to know that you need calci-um!” I’m not sure if she made up this saying herself, but it has always stuck with me. Calcium is a nerve membrane stabilizer, among other things, and if you have the slightest deficiency, your nerves will have a hard time relaxing, and that may keep you awake. Calcium, along with Magnesium is best taken with a little citrus juice, which helps it to be more easily absorbed. Food for thought! – Dr Bradley Nelson
